Vad är YouHero?
YouHero har genom stöd av RANK, Kulturrådet, Konstnärsnämnden, Scenkonstbolaget Musik, Helge Axon Johnson, Västmanlandsmusiken, Uruppförandeklubben, CY-Contempory, URUK-Ljungskile, Geiger, föreningen NYMUS och Scenkonstbolaget Musik utvecklat Guitar Hero gitarren till ett riktigt instrument.
Under några års tid har gruppen programmerat, testat och framträtt med YouHero-gitarren vid bland annat GAS-festivalen och Norbergsfestivalen. Palle Dahlstedt har även arbetat med YouHero som en del av sin forskning och han har bland annat fått Sveriges genom tidernas största forskningsanslag, som tilldelats konstnärlig forskning, för detta.
Vad händer?
YouHero kommer att turnera i Sverige med start i Kungälv 22 september. Där gör man en workshop tillsammans med ungdomar från kommunen på Mimers hus för att senare under dagen göra en konsert i samma lokaler. Därefter fortsätter turnén till Västerås, Gävle och landar i Härnösand 11 oktober. Fler spelningar lär tillkomma.
Biografier (in english)
Patrik Karlsson is a lute player from Sweden. He has toured all over Europe, Japan, India & USA and he is the founder of Uruppförandeklubben. Patrik is a strong proponent for contemporary music and has premiered over 80 chamber works. In Norway he has toured with Ålesund String Quartet, the actress Karoline Isaksen and the country singer Synnøve Aanensen. He has also performed as a soloist with Ålesund Symphony Orchestra and Bergslagen Chamber Orchestra.
Recorder player Katarina Widell is known for her great stage presence and challenging way of playing. Press reviews describe her as "a recorder tamer" and"master of the recorder". Her repertoire spans over one thousand years of western music and she is constantly seeking new repertoire and new ways of interpretation.
She has performed as a soloist together with The Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, Drottningholm Baroque Ensemble and Västerås Sinfonietta and has collaborated with conductors such as Antonello Manacorda, Robin Ticciati, Anthony Halstead and Johannes Gustavsson. Widell has performed several times on National Television SVT, Swedish Radio SR and festivals such as Stockholm Early Music Festival, Music at lake Siljan, Musik på Sörmländska Slott & Herresäten and Amherst Early Music Festival i Vermont.
Tony Blomdahl is a Swedish composer and sound artist living in Gothenburg. Tony mainly composes chamber music for different instrumentations, often with electronics, but also orchestral works, electro acoustic music and opera. He is also as a musician a member of different ensembles such as LÄDER, ProTo, pigin and HILO SUPERDRONE. He created the YouHero concept together with Patrik Karlsson, Katarina Widell and Palle dahlstedt.
Palle Dahlstedt is a composer, musician, sound artist and researcher. His music ranges from orchestral works to interactive music installations, from theatre music to electronic improvisations. It has been performed on six continents and awarded several international prizes.
With a thorough training in composition, piano and harpsichord, and a parallel career as a computer programmer, he is now combining the two as a composer and researcher (ass. senior lecturer in computer-aided creativity) at the IT University of Göteborg, which is part of Chalmers University of Technology and Göteborg University. Dahlstedt is a co-founding lecturer at the Art & Technology program at the Faculty of Applied Information technology. He created the YouHero concept together with Patrik Karlsson, Katarina Widell and Tony Blomdahl.
